It’s all about fibre

Reflects on the importance of paying attention to the fibre in your food choices in this issue’s Doctor’s Notes column.

There are two basic rules:

  1. Check the ingredients carefully, looking at sugar content as well as fibre
  2. Add fresh or frozen fruit to your cereal, rather than using canned products that are already sweetened with glucose or corn syrup.

Finding tasty ways to use fibre of all types in your diet will help you enjoy your food, reap health benefits and, if you’re fortunate, re-regularize your life!
